Three timber cabins set into a volcanic hillside in the natural park of La Garrotxa — fully off-grid, wood-fired, and surrounded by beech forest.

The place

Built into the hillside.
No roads in.
No noise out.

Marc Bosch spent three years building the cabins himself. He trained as a carpenter in the Pyrenees, worked in sustainable construction in Sweden, and came back to La Garrotxa because the volcanic soil and the beech forests reminded him of something he couldn't find anywhere else.

Each cabin is solar-powered, has a wood-fired bath on a private deck, and is positioned so that no cabin can see another. There is no WiFi by design. Breakfast arrives at 8am in a wicker basket left at your door. There is no other service — this is the point.

Marc, a carpenter who built his own answer to modern hospitality

Marc built every timber joint in these three cabins with hand tools. He lives on the property in a separate structure, manages the solar systems and the water supply, and bakes the bread for breakfast each morning. He is available if you need something and entirely invisible if you don't.

What you'll find

Wood-fired baths under the open sky

Each cabin has its own cedar tub on a private deck, heated by a wood fire that takes forty minutes to reach temperature. Marc leaves firewood, kindling, and instructions. The rest is yours.

The volcanic landscape of La Garrotxa

The natural park contains forty volcanic cones and twenty-eight ancient lava flows. The beech forests that grow from this geology are unlike anything else in southern Europe — dense, cathedral-like, and almost entirely silent.

Off-grid by design, not by accident

Solar panels, a rainwater collection system, a composting setup, and bread delivered each morning. Marc's approach to sustainability isn't ideological — it's practical. The land doesn't allow anything else, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Three cabins, set apart

Each cabin stands free, with its own deck and its own view of the valley — close enough to share the landscape, far enough apart that you can forget the others are there. A breakfast basket arrives each morning; hiking maps wait inside.

Getting there

Finding Cabanyes Entre Valls.

From Olot, take the GIV-5241 toward Santa Pau and turn onto the forest track at km 7.4 — marked with a small wooden sign reading Cabanyes. The track is passable by normal car in dry weather. We recommend leaving your vehicle at the lower clearing and walking the final 400 metres.
